The Neal Family Tradition Lives On
Tom and Vida Neal were the undisputed pioneers in making Concan a family vacation destination in Texas. They literally built the vacation industry here, starting with rustic cabins and the famous Neal’s Dining Room, where you can still sink your teeth into Vida’s famous chicken fried steak. Buchanan Vacation Homes are one of the many places to stay in Concan TX.
After almost a century of change, Tom and Vida Neal’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren are keeping alive the tradition of welcoming family and friends to Concan and the Frio River.
Buchanan Vacation Homes are still in the Neal family’s hands. Shane (great-grandson) and his wife, April of the Neal family take great pride in being a part of a long history of hospitality and family fun on the Frio River.

- Pet Shenanigans
We have been at this for a long time.
Our policy around pets is to just tell us up front.
We will let you know if it’s cool or not…and if not, don’t make us get all feisty about it.
We have to protect the investment our homeowners made in us and their homes.
You could get the boot if you don’t follow the rules. And a nasty fine.
Only the Eagle’s Roost is pet friendly. And, yep, we check for pet hairs.
